As thriving distributors of spa products, Will and I are approached all the time by companies who are hoping to create a larger audience for their products. The salon and spa market in Ontario is huge, and wide distribution of products can catapult a brand into major success.
There are all kinds of ways to choose a product to be in our lineup, but the most significant for us has to be the way we feel about it.
Six years ago we decided to distribute Moor Spa products because of their effectiveness, their quality of ingredients, their guarantee of natural source, but also because of the honesty of the manufacturer, Michael Beresford, who places his photo and signature on every retail package.
Almost 2 years ago we discovered Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics, and not a day goes by that I don't smile because of it. Andrea Pahn, Creative Director and owner of Cheeky Monkey, has to be the coolest person ever to hang out with. Her humour, zest, creativity, and deep integrity are a gift. The product is exceptional because of what she puts into it. Wearable, leading edge, long-lasting, "3-free" colours, and let's not forget the fun names - always bringing laughter wherever we go!
Recently, we discovered another wonderful product to add to our lineup - kaia naturals bamboo cleansing cloths. I first found these gems while travelling last year, and bought a package for myself and loved them. They are delightfully fragrant and refreshing, leaving me with a clean, cool feeling, and no residual dryness. I had no idea that Andrea of Cheeky Monkey and Mary Futher of kaia were acquainted and that Mary was looking for distribution within Ontario. It took only a brief phone call and a couple of emails to make the decision that this was a product we could get behind.
There are several brands of facial cleansing cloths on the market – some good, some not so good, often filled with petroleum derivatives, drying alcohol and solvents. Usually, they’re made of rayon too.
kaia cleansing cloths, on the other hand, are made with renewable, biodegradable, softly woven bamboo, and fragranced only with essential oils. They contain organic Canadian honey for moisturizing, and they contain no solvents. In essence, you get a great cleanser, toner, and eye makeup remover that leaves your skin soft, clean and fresh.
They got extensive use while I was on vacation recently – hot and sticky days, dust, late nights, and melting makeup were no match for these little cloths.
